Jessica Larsen, OR LMT # 23819, offers deep tissue, Swedish, prenatal, Arvigo techniques of Mayan abdominal therapy, and aquatic bodywork to the Corvallis area. With 20 years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the table, a love of working with her hands, attentive and listening ears, a calm and grounded presence, and a deep appreciation and respect for people.
Originally from Connecticut, Jessica earned a BA in English from Oberlin College before striking out to the west coast to learn and practice massage. She's been lucky enough to live and work in Los Angeles, Ojai, CA, and Ashland, OR before settling in the Willamette Valley with her husband and two kids. She's an avid learner who also teaches classes in ethics, boundaries, and the nervous system. Jessica is fascinated by polyvagal theory and how our nervous system responses of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn affect our communication and boundary making and loves bringing this information to students. Classes can be found at www.renewmassageceu.com.
If you are interested in Mayan abdominal massage - here's some information. It is a gentle and non-invasive massage that brings circulation and balance to the abdominal organs. Literally supporting you to 'return to your center,' the work is great for women and men of all ages for well women's care, healthy digestion, fertility, pre and post natal care, and overall well-being.
The techniques work to restore the body to its natural balance by correcting the position of organs that have shifted and restrict the flow of blood, lymph, nerve & chi energy. Mayan tradition asserts that the balance of a woman's health and well-being centers around the health of her womb and core.
